Noun Clauses with that (LGP-Elem)

REFERENCE: Noun Clauses: verb/adjective + that + subject + verb + ...
We can use noun clauses after the verbs think, believe, know, hope, say, tell, etc.:
We can use noun clauses after the adjectives sure, certain, sorry, afraid, etc.:
I'm sure that we'll have a good time.
I'm afraid that I can't help you.
We can use leave out (omit) that:
I think (that) I can come.
I'm sure (that) we'll have a good time.
NOTICE:We use an object (we mention a listener) after tell but not after say. Compare:
He says (that) he has a new car. [we don't mention a listener]
He tells me (that) he has a new car. [we mention a listener: me]
